The specified versions for Autodesk AutoCAD and Map 3D are the ones for which NET was developed. Generally, newer versions can also be used. However, there have been occasional updates in the past that caused crashes in NET.
Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D 2025: Currently, we advise against the productive use of the 2025 version of Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D. In our tests, this version of Map 3D has proven to be unstable. Additionally, the compatible PGP version is still under development.
Note on the AutoCAD Map 3D versions
Please note the minimum required versions of Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D for the operation of NET 14.1. The version for Autodesk Map 3D 2025 has been updated since NET 14.0. The patched version is required for NET to work correctly.
Please check your installed AutoCAD Map 3D version and pay attention to these two version details when doing so:
Release NET 14.1 in Detail
General
Documentation Pack
-
A bug in the use of placeholders in the “Subfolder” entry has been corrected. The placeholders are now always replaced.
-
Fixed a bug in the “Create plot sequences” workflow that could cause the layout importer to incorrectly size imported layouts.
-
The name of the domain table “Plot sequence status” as well as attribute names of the feature class “plot sequence” were added respectively corrected.
-
The subtemplates of a DocPack template are now always grouped by topic and listed alphabetically.
-
While opening a template in the DocPack configuration, indicator window shows the loading process.
NET Design
General
-
There is now a new preprocessing step called 'Splitting trenches on surface areas'. Possible trenches are cut at the polygon boundaries of the surface areas and the trench type of the surface is assigned to the possible trenches. In addition, there is a new project validation that checks for overlapping surface areas in this project.
Import
-
A preview of the new “Import” (analogous to the new import function in NET Engineering) with numerous extended functions and supported formats - e.g. importing street centerlines from OSM data - is available for testing. The new import can be started with the command “TKI_COMMON_IMPORT_UI”.
Note: The import of the “Number of units (WE/GE/etc.)” is currently not yet supported.
Comsof Fiber Integration
-
Comsof Fiber versions up to and including 24.1 have been activated and can be used for the calculation. The new version splits the drop trenches into a private and a public part based on the parcel polygons. Additionally the new value “NO PRIVATE DROP” can be set for the connection type of the demand points.
GIS-Nebenbestimmungen
-
When importing UUIDs to GIS ancillary provisions, an error report was generated when an invalid file was selected. This error has been fixed.
Bill of Materials
-
Fixed a bug where the BOM for AutoCAD 2025 could not be opened.
NET Engineering
General
-
A new export was introduced, which outputs the data of a NET Engineering project as shape files according to the specifications of the infrastructure atlas (ISA) of the Bundesnetzagentur. The TKI NET Engineering ISA data model extension was created for this purpose. If the extension is activated in the Infrastructure Administrator, the ISA tab is created in the corresponding forms. Relevant attributes can be filled in there. The ISA export is started by right-clicking in the industry model explorer. Details on ISA export can be found in the NET Help.
-
The Cyclorama overlay button is now locked if no Cyclorama is active and no longer leads to an incomprehensible message.
-
An error that occasionally occurred when scrolling in the table view of various forms has been fixed.
-
The alignment of the elements for configuring the tree views in the NET options has been corrected. Additionally, the tooltip providing guidance on the use of the elements has been revised.
-
When loading the Feature Explorer data in AutoCAD Map3D, a loading bar is now displayed and the rest of the application is locked until the end of the loading process. This prevents errors that could occur if other processes were started during the loading process. In addition, the display of the Feature Explorer in the Infrastructure Administrator has been optimized under different screen scaling.
-
The color of the activated layer is now used when streaming the map objects into the Cyclorama.
Dialogs
-
In the “Duct”, “FO Cable Section” and “TP Cable Section” forms, in addition to the “Refresh length manually” function under Edit, there is now also the “Refresh length manually (Filter)” function, which calculates the CAD length of all data records in the filter (including the CAD lengths of the child objects).
-
In the “Segment”, “Duct”, “FO Cable Section” and “TP Cable Section” forms, “named projections” that are no longer required have been removed due to the new reference buttons.
Reports
-
Fixed a problem that caused the NET reports to not work correctly in AutoCAD Map3D 2025.
-
The 1-Click Maintenance “Report Check” now no longer shows errors in the “NET FO Cable Section” and “NET FO Cable Section Without Trunk” reports. Instead, the reports are now imported correctly.
Import
-
Reading shape files failed in Autodesk Map 3D 2025, in case the attributes were not encoded with UTF-8. This error has been fixed.
-
A bug has bennd fixed that affected mandatory attributes with relation that caused the “Next” button on the attribute mapping page to be disabled.
-
The import template is now saved before the actual import is carried out so that it can be reused in the event of a cancellation.
-
The general import now supports the import of additional attributes for the redlining and NET Design data model.
-
In rare cases, it could happen that the import was canceled or aborted due to mismatching data types. This error has been fixed.
-
When selecting the Excel import, an error occurred in the range specification that prevented manual entry. This error has been fixed.
-
On the page with the filter settings, a date selection is now displayed for date fields.
-
A new import plug-in for importing street centerlines from OSM data has been added to the general import.
-
When importing CSV files, the number and date format can now be selected instead of localization.
-
A new plug-in for the import of Geopackage files has been added to the general import.
-
Data records with empty values for mandatory columns are automatically filtered out during import. The user is informed of this by an icon and a tooltip.
-
The page with the import settings for the filter conditions has been improved.
-
A new option for updating data records has been added to the general import. This means that it is now possible to update existing data records or import new ones.
Workflows
-
In the “Recalculate duct and cable length” workflow, the “All ducts” and “All segments” selection options are replaced by “All ducts and cables”.
-
A bug affecting the calculation of duct lengths when splitting duct segments has been resolved. The issue occurred only when the option “Automatically calculate duct and cable lengths” was disabled, and when the value in the CAD length (
LENGTH
) column differed from the actual geometric length of the CAD line. In such cases, the calculation could incorrectly mix outdated and geometric length values, potentially resulting in inconsistent or even negative length values.
With this fix, the selected length calculation option is now correctly respected:-
If automatic calculation is disabled, the existing length (
LENGTH
) remains the same for the original duct and is set to zero or null for the newly created duct. -
If automatic calculation is enabled, the length is fully recalculated based on the assignments or the geometry.
-
-
The performance of the “Recalculate duct and cable length” workflow has been improved.
-
In the workflows “Create FO cable loop” and “Create TP cable loop”, the “Reserve length in meter” is now also correctly adopted if the value has not been changed after opening the workflow.
-
The performance of the “Recalculate duct and cable length” workflow with the “All ducts” option has been improved.
-
The algorithm for generating multilines has been improved in order to be able to evaluate as many duct and cable routes as possible without errors.
Connection editor
-
If trays have a name, the name of the tray will now be displayed in the connection editor in the information “Stored in tray” instead of the number.
-
Moving the divider line in the connection editor has been clamped and does not result in broken layouts.
GIS-Nebenbestimmungen
-
Single ducts are no longer split by segments during export.
-
The export to GeoJson has been corrected.
-
In GIS-NB version 5.1 the option “Export networktechnology and associated structures” has been added.
-
Fixed a bug that caused the attenuation value in the ‘Endverbraucher’ layer to be incorrect and incomprehensible if there are multiple wavelengths for the calculation in a project. The attenuation is now calculated per wavelength over the entire path and the largest value from the calculated attenuation values is being exported.
TNIM
-
The TNIM structure update for the import extension has been transferred to NET Engineering. The TNIM import module is therefore no longer available, but its functionality remains intact.
Import from NET Build
-
Fixed a bug in the NET Build integration that caused a Map3D crash if the TKI licensing was not reachable.
-
The feature class for the redlining service item has been extended by four fields to make it easier to track construction progress. The date on which the service item was submitted and approved in the report is now displayed, as well as the names of the subcontractor and the construction crew carrying out the work.
-
A new field ‘Category’ has been added to the redlining cable. This field is automatically filled in when importing from NET Build.
-
The 'Company' field was removed from the redlining measurement form.
-
A new field for the cable reserve at the beginning and end has been added to the redlining cable class. The information on reserves is now automatically transferred from NET Build.
-
When importing from NET Build, redlining buildings, redlining building units and redlining clusters are now created based on the corresponding NET Build objects.
Export to NET Build
-
The export to NET Build now aborts the process if there are errors in color schemes to avoid creating invalid data.
-
When exporting to NET Build, the cable reserves for the start and end of the cable are now also transferred for all cable sections
Redlining
-
The use of redlining attributes is now also available for measurement points and measurement lines
-
An error in the “Link lead in connections” action has been fixed, which had resulted in no duct fitting being created.
-
Added a new domain table to describe the positioning quality of a redlining scan as well as an attribute to save the GNSS device used to create the scan.
-
The ‘Category’ field on the redlining cable is now also transferred to NET Engineering during redlining data transfer.
-
The redlining cable reserve at the start or end of a cable is now converted into a cable reserve during redlining data transmission according to NET Engineering.
-
Two new actions have been added when transferring data from Redlining to NET Engineering: 'Link buildings' enables the creation of new NET engineering buildings and building units based on the corresponding redlining data, while 'Link clusters' creates new NET engineering clusters from the redlining clusters. These enhancements improve the automatic transfer and mapping of redlining data into the NET engineering data modell.
-
The redlining data model has been expanded to include the object classes building, building unit and cluster.
Documentation Pack
-
The designations regarding the coloring when creating splice plans have been corrected in the DocPack configuration and when creating from the forms for better understanding.
