If a duct ends at a manhole, cabinet, pole, FO terminator or building, this must be documented as a duct insertion.
Procedure
Start the workflow in Workflow Explorer > Duct workflows > Add duct insertion by double-clicking it, from the context menu or by clicking the button in the lower right area of the workflow explorer:
or on the NET planning tab:
An option can be used to specify whether duct insertions should be created only for the selected duct or also for its subordinate ducts.
The type of duct insertion can be selected from a drop-down list of the available duct-insertion types:
The trench must be selected in the illustration that contains the corresponding duct or the duct itself is selected. The tube can be selected from the illustration or from the trench cross section.
If the trench is selected for creating the duct insertion, duct insertions will be produced for all ducts in the trench.
After selecting the duct, you will be prompted to select the point for which the duct insertion is to be created. These are manholes, cabinets, terminators and buildings.
A message in the command window confirms the creation of the duct insertion.
Result
In the form for the duct, under the duct-assignment overview, the button delivers the duct insertions associated with the duct.
The form for the duct insertion is presented as follows:
The trenches and ducts in contact with the cabinet/manhole can be seen under Connections in the Cabinet/manhole form. Ducts introduced into the cabinet/manhole are identified by an arrow (1). If no duct insertion has been created, the duct name is displayed without a symbol (2).
Note
The duct-end overview only provides correct results if the ducts are introduced into the manhole, cabinet or building with a duct insertion where they end.
