Splitting a segment

The “Split segment” workflow is used to split segments while retaining their attributes. Both the descriptive information about the segment and the ducts and cables occupying it are transferred to the new segment sections.

Procedure

Start the workflow in Workflow Explorer > Survey plan workflows > Split segment by double-clicking it, from the context menu or by clicking the mceclip2.png button in the lower right area of the workflow explorer:

or on the NET Planning tab:

The segment to be split must be selected in the graphic.

Determine the point in the graphic at which the segment is to be split. Any point on or next to the segment can be selected. If the segment is to be split at a point present in the graphic, then work with the snap modes.

In the example, the segment is to be split at the end point of an outgoing segment.

Two segment sections with identical occupancies are created.

Note
When splitting a segment, only the segment objects will be split! The subordinate ducts and cables are not split and are assigned to all newly created segment sections after the segment has been split.
