Splitting a trench

The “Split trenches” workflow is used to split trenches while retaining their attributes. Both the descriptive information about the trench and the ducts and cables occupying it are transferred to the new trench sections.

Procedure

Start the workflow in Workflow Explorer > Survey-plan workflows > Split trenches by double-clicking it, from the context menu or by clicking the mceclip3.png button in the lower right area of the workflow explorer:

or on the NET planning tab:

The trench to be split must be selected in the illustration.

Determine the point in the illustration at which the trench is to be split. Any point on or next to the trench can be selected. If the trench is to be split at a point present in the illustration, then work with the snap modes.

In the example, the trench is to be split at the end point of an outgoing trench.

Two trench sections with identical occupancies are created.

Note
When splitting a trench, only the trench objects will be split! The subordinate ducts and cables are not split and are assigned to all newly created trench sections after the trench has been split.
