Creating and assigning ducts

There are two options in the duct module for documenting empty ducts. The empty-duct infrastructure can be displayed with or without geometry. Ducts can be assigned to either a segment or another duct (duct-in-duct management). The assignment of ducts to a trench or duct can be canceled again at any time.

Procedure

Start the workflow in Workflow Explorer > Duct workflows > Create and assign ducts (without geometry) by double-clicking it, from the context menu or by clicking the mceclip1.png button in the lower right area of the workflow explorer:

or in the segment or duct form in the respective context menu

This will open the workflow for creating ducts without geometry.

If the workflow was started from the context menu of a segment/duct, the segment/duct is already selected (3). However, if the workflow was started from the Workflow Explorer, a segment/duct must still be selected (1) and (2).

1. If you start creating the duct from Workflow Explorer, you can select how the feature selection is to be made.

a) A filtered duct from the form is transferred.
b) The segment/duct can be selected from the map.
c) A filtered segment from the form is transferred.

2. The entries can be added or removed.

3. At the start of the workflow from the segment or duct form, the corresponding higher-layer element is already selected. The name or FID of the object is displayed.

4. Enter the number of ducts to be created.

5. The duct type is selected from the list of existing duct types.

6. The required duct template for the duct type is selected. If a unique duct template is assigned to a duct type with duct bundle configuration, it appears in the selection field.

7. If the “Set … name automatically” option is activated, the name for the duct can be entered. If no specified name is to be assigned, different placeholders can create a name for the duct(s).

Placeholders Description
NO The ducts to be created are numbered consecutively.
TYPE The type of the duct to be created is assigned as a name.
PARENT_NAME The name of the duct to which the duct is assigned is used.
PARENT_TYPE The type of duct to which the duct is assigned is assigned as a name.

The placeholders must be written in curly brackets.

Example: {PARENT_NAME}.{NR} - {TYPE}

The names of the subordinate ducts to be newly created is formed from the name of the higher-layer duct; the ducts are numbered consecutively and from the duct type.
If the option is not activated, no name is automatically assigned.

8. The duct colors are generated according to the color scheme. Users can select the color scheme and determine the respective start point.

Note: For subordinate ducts that are created automatically via the configuration in the duct type, the color scheme assigned there applies.

9. The “Run” button starts the creation of ducts without geometry.

Note
The duct without geometry always receives the geometry of the higher-layer segment/duct.

Note
If the entries contain errors, the following symbol appears: mceclip0.png
A tool tip indicates possible sources of errors that need to be corrected.

Note

If there are no duct types in the project, this will be displayed instead of "duc type" and "duct template":
