In NET Engineering, users have the option of defining splice types themselves. The form is opened by double-clicking in the Splice type field in the TP Splice form.

| Brief description | This is where you enter the brief description. (2) |
| Description | Enter the name of the splice type here. (3) |
| Created on | The date when the record was created can be specified. (4) |
| Designer | The person who created the record can be entered. (5) |
| Comment | A comment on the splice type can be entered here. (6) |
| Active | Only active splice types can be selected from the drop-down list in the detailed form for TP splices. (7) |
| Priority | A priority for the splice type can be assigned. (8) |
| Splices | Clicking on  lists all TP Splices that use the current splice type. The  button displays all TP Splices to which a splice type has been assigned in the filter. (9) |
