The network path information in FTTx networks is created with this tabular fiber-path overview. The overview can be used to check all buildings to be connected.
A prerequisite for a correct CO overview is the assignment of the FO terminator to a building.
Procedure and content
The CO overview can be started at the switching point, the FO terminator, or the FO closure. In the “Overviews/Reports” menu, you can open the CO overview for the selected object, for all objects in the filter, or for all objects marked with bookmarks in the filter:
| Switching point | FO terminator | FO closure |
Tracing is performed for the network paths of the objects located in the start node and listed in the CO overview.
Depending on where the CO overview was started and which network paths are continuously connected, different views appear in the overview.
Example 1 - Start at the FO terminator at the beginning of the network path:
For the FO terminator, the tray, the splice location, and the connector of the fiber path are displayed.
| # | sequential number of the fiber path |
| terminator | name of the terminator |
| tray | installation location, number and type of tray |
| splice place | splice place number |
| connector | name and type of the connector |
Information about the cable that starts at the terminator:
| cable | name and type of the cable |
| fiber nr. | fiber number |
| fiber | name of the fiber |
| duct 1 | name of the duct assembly in which the microduct with the cable is located |
| duct 2 | name of the microduct in which the cable is located |
Details of the closure where the cable enters:
| closure | name of the closure |
| tray | installation location, number and type of tray |
| splice place | splice place number |
Information about the cable that starts in the closure:
| cable | name and type of the cable |
| fiber nr. | fiber number |
| fiber | name of the fiber |
| duct 1 | name of the duct assembly in which the microduct with the cable is located |
| duct 2 | name of the microduct in which the cable is located |
| ... duct x | additional duct sections with duct assemblies and micro ducts are listed |
Name of the terminator where the network path ends:
| terminator | name and type of the terminator |
Details of the terminator and its installation location (building)
| tray | installation location, number and type of tray |
| splice place | splice place number |
| connector | name and type of the connector |
| address | street name, house number and city of the building |
| abbreviation | abbreviation of the building |
Information about the network path
| total length (m) | length of the network path in meters |
| a in dB (1310nm) | Attenuation of the network path in decibels relative to the wavelength 1310 nm |
| a in dB (1550nm) | Attenuation of the network path in decibels relative to the wavelength 1550 nm |
Example 2 - Start at the FO closure in the middle of the network path (not all fibres are connected through the closure):
The tray, splice place and connector of the fibre path are displayed for the FO terminator. If fibre paths do not lead to a terminator, these lines remain empty.
