Release NET 15.3 in Detail
NET Design
atesio Integration
- Atesio STRATEGIC 2025 is now supported.
- The atesio calculation now correctly generates complete splice information for projects where connected devices are located at the same geometric point. This ensures that all expected splice entries are available and prevents downstream issues during conversion.
- When importing atesio output workspace, NET Design now handles mismatched input and output data more clearly. Instead of an exception, users receive an error message explaining that the input data no longer matches and a new calculation is required.
Comsof Fiber Integration
- When importing preprocessing results from Comsof, AutoCAD Map 3D would sometimes become unresponsive for extended periods while processing large datasets. The data now loads reliably and within a reasonable amount of time, without the application entering a freeze-like state.
NET Engineering
General
- When adjusting segment and duct assignments, repeated highlighting of invalid geometries now zooms to each problem location one after another.
Import
- In the general import, additional settings are now available for NET Scan import, including loading available databases, selecting multiple project areas, defining survey geometry, and handling master data.
- In the general import, the data preview now loads faster when reopened without changes.
- In the general import, metadata from imported files is now cached, allowing the data preview for large files to load faster.
- In the general import, records can now also be imported if related domain values are empty in the input file.
- Infas imports are now only available via the general import. The option to start them from the industry model context menu has been removed.
- In the general import, a detailed protocol is now visible directly in the protocol UI.
- In the general import, validation has been added for fiber optic ONTs and fiber optic splitter data to check the required assignment.
- In the general import, GeoPackage files with empty geometries can now be used without an error message.
- During the import of OSM road centerlines, the error window can now be closed correctly after cancelling.
- Error handling for relations during general data import has been improved. If a value to be imported (e.g., an FID) does not exist in the database's target table, the corresponding field is now intentionally set to empty. At the same time, a descriptive warning message is generated in the import log, allowing missing relations to be identified and corrected immediately. Previously, these fields remained empty without providing any feedback to the user.
- In the general import, invalid geometries are now shown in the protocol without displaying an error report.
- In the general import, an error message is now displayed if an ONT is not assigned to either a building or a building unit.
Workflows
- When removing duct fittings in the duct connection editor, moved fittings are no longer incorrectly interpreted as duct insertions.
Planning and House Connection Assistant
- In the planning assistant, perpendicular house lead-in segments are now created more accurately based on the termination point.
Dialogs
- In NET Engineering, the standard value "Street segment" is now available for segment categories.
- For FO ONTs, the date fields "Creation date" and "Shutdown date" are now available in the standard data model.
- In the building form, linked building units can now be opened via the projection button.
Reports
- The CO overview now includes the FID for ONT elements.
- Splitters will now be displayed by their name in the detailed splice plan. Unnamed splitters will be identified by their position.
- The Cable Schema Plan now supports filtering objects by status, displaying device type and status labels directly in the plan, and toggling between as-is and to-be views by considering work orders. All new settings default to the previous behavior.
- The performance of the "Splice overview closure" report has been improved.
- Reports now display correctly and completely for all Windows display scaling settings (including >100%).
GIS-Nebenbestimmungen
- In the GIS-NB export, the error summary now includes additional information about the GIS-NB version and phase used.
- For the BMVI export (BW), a field length validation for duct types has been implemented. Since the fields for other duct types (LR_BB_Son, LR_VN_Son, LR_EA_Son) are limited to a maximum of 50 characters according to the specification, the system now ensures before export that this length is not exceeded. If the combined duct types are too long, a corresponding error message is displayed.
- An error occurring during the structure update in GIS-NB (NET Engineering) has been resolved. Due to technical changes, SQL queries ending with a semicolon were no longer processed correctly, causing the update to fail. The affected report definitions have been corrected, ensuring the structure update now completes without errors.
Import from NET Build
- For automated import from NET Build, a new option for updating existing RL measurements is now available in IMBatch.
- During import from NET Build, ONTs can now also be imported into Redlining.
Export to NET Build
- During export to NET Build, ONTs are now natively supported and considered for buildings and building units.
- During export to NET Build, validations can now be cancelled without causing Map 3D to crash.
Redlining
- In the NET Scan data model, the new "Constructed on" attribute is now available for additional object classes and is considered during the transfer to Redlining and NET Engineering.
- In the ONT form, RL attributes can now be created and RL ONT considered in the general import.
- In NET Redlining, the view for RL structures has been extended with the name of the structure type.
- In Redlining forms, objects with linked geometry can now be highlighted directly on the map.
- In the TKI NET Scan fiber-optic data model, scan ducts can now be linked directly to other scan ducts. This enables duct relationships and network structures to be represented and documented more flexibly.
- In NET Redlining, segments can now be split while related attributes are transferred correctly.
- After Redlining data transfer, an additional option is now available for controlling the creation of duct insertions.
- Geometry synchronization in the NET Scan data model has been automated. Linear objects such as cables, ducts, and protection pipes now automatically inherit the geometry of their assigned segment. When the segment's path is modified or an object is reassigned to a different segment, the geometry of the affected features is updated consistently. This reduces manual effort during network planning and ensures that the spatial location of infrastructure components always aligns with the segment routing.
- Project areas in NET Scan can now be activated/deactivated in the data model. Deactivated project areas are no longer considered when automatically assigning newly digitized objects. This allows completed project areas to be effectively "archived" so that new captures in the same area are assigned to the correct (active) project. Existing project areas remain active by default.
- During Redlining data transfer to NET Engineering, additional attributes such as Info and user length are now transferred.
- A new validation for checking unconnected subnets (islands) has been implemented for NET Scan Redlining. This feature helps planners quickly identify gaps in the trench network to ensure a fully closed network. The validation lists all existing subnets, taking the project's spatial tolerance into account. Users can highlight the affected trenches in the map directly from the list or open the corresponding form for editing. This check is exclusively available for the NET Scan Redlining data transfer.
- During Redlining data transfer, the new "Link ONTs" action is now available to create ONTs in NET Engineering and assign connectors.
- The structure update for the Redlining module has been stabilized. An issue that could cause the update to fail during repeated executions has been resolved. The database structure update can now be performed reliably and as many times as needed, even if certain tables have already been removed.
- During Redlining data transfer, inner ducts are no longer created or assigned multiple times.
- During Redlining data transfer, multiple technically separate ducts are now correctly retained as separate ducts.
- During Redlining data transfer, multiple ducts with identical properties are now correctly retained as separate ducts.
- During Redlining data transfer, single-part house lead-in trenches with priority "main trench" are no longer unnecessarily split into multiple segments.
- During import from NET Build, existing survey points are now correctly matched and are not created again.
- A bug in the Redlining import from NET Build has been fixed that occurred when objects had no custom attributes. The import of planning data now runs stable for these objects as well.
Documentation Pack
- Checklists in DocPack now feature a context menu with "Select all" and "Deselect all" for quick bulk toggling.
- Fixed an issue where the AutoCAD error "eWrongDatabase" occurred when outputting the cable schema plan via the Documentation Pack.
Validation
- Double-clicking a validation message in the project validation dialog opens the associated form and highlights and zooms to the affected object.
- A new setting has been added to the NET options to control the validation of start and end points for duct and cable geometries. By default, the system checks whether terminators, closures, duct insertions, and fittings are located exactly at the start or end point of the associated geometry. By disabling this option, users can suppress this check if specific workflows intentionally allow deviations between point objects and line ends. This prevents unnecessary error messages during geometry validation in projects that do not require exact point-to-endpoint conformity.
- The project validation dialog now remembers its window position and size. When reopened, it appears at the same location and with the same dimensions as before.
NET Operations
General
- The notification text for transferring services to the network path via filter has been corrected. The dialog now correctly indicates that services are being added instead of removed.
Network routing
- Fixed incorrect cassette assignment for cassettes newly created by the network route search, ensuring they are now assigned to the correct device.
- When creating a network path across switching points, an incorrect error message was displayed. The path was created successfully, but the message was confusing. This has been fixed.
