Data from other data formats can be converted into industry-model objects. This data may come from DWG, SDF, SHP, and SQLite data sources.
If you want to import shape or sdf data, the data to be converted must be connected to the project via an FDO connection.
In the “Add” tab > “Insert” group
or, in the Industry Model Explorer, with “Import” in the context menu of the project
The following dialog opens:
|File-based sources that are to be converted can be added
|FDO connection sources that are to be converted can be added
|Industry model sources that are to be converted can be added
After selecting the data source, it is displayed in the “Default” area. In the “All models” area, the corresponding feature class to which the conversion is to made must be selected.
The attributes contained in the source must be assigned to the attributes of the feature class.
The “Convert” button starts the conversion.
The number of objects is displayed.
The objects are transferred to the database when the "Extract" button has been pressed.
