NET Cloud app

The mobile NET Cloud app is perfectly suited for quick photo documentation on construction sites. Images can be added to a NET Cloud project within seconds, both online and offline.

Download app

The mobile app can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. A suitably up-to-date operating system is required.

When starting the app for the first time, a login is required. For this, the NET Cloud instance, an email address already registered on the instance, and the corresponding password are required.

If you have forgotten your password, use button 1 to request a new password by email.

Select project

After logging in, a project can be selected. The pen icon indicates write permissions in the respective project. If the pen is crossed out, the user is not allowed to upload photos in this project.

The selected project is stored in the app and will be automatically opened the next time the app is launched. From this point on, it is also possible to work offline with the app in terms of adding photos.

Take photo

After a project has been selected, in the first menu item “Take photo” either an image can be selected from the image gallery (1) or a new image can be taken (2).

In the center, the current GPS accuracy is displayed and the compass direction is shown by the red arrow. If the GPS accuracy is over 20 meters, a red border appears around the inner circle. This indicates that the coordinates are too inaccurate to take a new photo using (2).

Only when the accuracy is below 20 meters down to 10 meters does the border turn orange and the photo button becomes clickable. However, the location is not yet precisely determined and it is strongly recommended to check the coordinates in order to store the most accurate possible location.

With an accuracy below 10 meters, the border turns green.

Enter photo information

Both online and offline, important metadata can be added to a photo. This includes the title, description, required tags and, if defined in the project, new tags as well. Finally, the location of the image can be adjusted. If the image was selected from the gallery and no coordinates are stored yet, these must be added under “Set location”.

The location stored in the image section is inserted into the photo as a watermark. Therefore, this step should be carried out carefully.

To release the photo for upload, there are two options: “Upload” and “Upload (remember metadata)”. Remembering the metadata has the advantage that the title, description, and selected tags are immediately available again for the next image. This allows many photos from the same construction site to be categorized quickly. If the metadata should not be applied to the next image, simply tap the trash icon on the “Take photo” page and the entered information will be removed from the cache, but not from the photos themselves.

Upload photos

In the “Uploads” menu item, photos are listed that were selected for upload but have not yet been uploaded due to poor internet connection or settings.

By swiping the entry to the left, it can be completely deleted and the image will be discarded.

If there is no internet connection, it is still possible to change the metadata of an image. To do this, simply tap on the image and adjust the data.

With a stable internet connection, the upload starts automatically. For this, the NET Cloud app must not be closed on the device.

App information

In the “Info” menu section, general information about the app version (1), the NET Cloud instance (2) to which you are connected, and the current GPS data (3) is displayed.

Via link (2), provided you have a NET Cloud Office & Field User license, you can access the corresponding projects in the NET Cloud web portal.

In addition, a button “Log out” provides the option to sign out.
