Form details

The following is a brief description of the most important attributes for this feature class:

Attribute

Meaning

Duct Type

This is only relevant when exporting to NET Engineering. The Comsof Fiber Designer does not take into account the duct type with regard to the capacity when planning.

Layer type

Defines in which network layer the duct can be used.

When planning with the Comsof Fiber Designer, the network layer must not be populated, otherwise the duct will be ignored when planning.

Is Existing

Defines whether the duct is existing or only planned as yet

Is Included

Determines whether the duct will be considered in the planning

Maximum amount of ducts

Limits the shared use of the duct to the defined number of ducts Caution: The value applies per network layer. Under certain circumstances, this restriction is ignored if the network could not otherwise be calculated.

Maximum amount of cables

Limits the shared use of the duct to the defined number of cables. Caution: The value applies per network layer. Under certain circumstances, this restriction is ignored if the network could not otherwise be calculated.

Maximum amount of fibers

Limits the shared use of the duct to the defined number of fibers. Caution: The value applies per network layer. Under certain circumstances, this restriction is ignored if the network could not otherwise be calculated.

Length in m

Measured length of an existing empty duct The field has no influence on the planning. In addition, it is not taken into account in the BOM of the Comsof Fiber Designer. These values are taken into account when exporting to NET Engineering.

Duct Type Constraint

This attribute is used to define the use of ducts for the respective record.

Duct Layout

(Comsof Fiber Designer only)

This attribute can be used to force whether or not an inner duct bandage is to be drawn in for each individual as-built duct record. This is a mandatory field. Supported only in conjunction with "Already exists" = YES.

Existing infrastructure in the form of empty ducts can be displayed under the heading Planning > Duct.

Separate costs for the use of these empty ducts may be determined via the planning settings.

Note

It is not possible to store capacity limits for empty ducts resulting from the duct dimensions. All cables along a route with existing infrastructure run through the empty duct after the calculation.

To include an existing duct for optimization (Comsof Fiber Designer), both “Is Existing” and “Is Included” must be set to YES.
