Performing the comsof preprocessing

Based on the imported demand points and street center lines, the existing infrastructure and the specified layer points, the possible trenches that form the basic for planning are automatically generated in the reprocessing.

In detail, these are:

  • Possible trenches that are automatically generated by mirroring street center lines by the value from the “Width” attribute
  • Lead-in trenches created as perpendiculars from demand points to possible trenches. By default, the perpendicular here is drawn to the possible trench with the same location and street name as defined in the demand point. If these attributes are not populated, the geometrically closest trench will be used.
  • Possible street crossings
  • Transitions between existing infrastructure and possible trenches
  • Structure Lead-In of structural points

Automatic preprocessing 

Automatic preprocessing automatically performs all steps for preprocessing the planning input data.

Start the automatic preprocessing by clicking the following button:

Please select the objects to be created in the settings.

“OK” starts the automatic preprocessing.

Note

Note that the results of the previous run are deleted each time the preprocessing is started. 

Demand points

Depending on the data situation, the “Demand Points” preprocessing step generates demand points from “buildings” or from “home points”. Only demand points are included in the calculation.

The creation of demand points from home points is currently not supported in the standard.

Note

Existing data in the “Demand point” feature class is deleted when this workflow is started.

Step-by-step preprocessing steps for overground networks 

Poles

If you want to plan overground connections, you have to create the pole locations by clicking on the “Poles” button.

Aerial

Use the “Aerial” button to create manually.

Depending on the choice, connections can be produced in the complex or in detail. Use the drop-down menu to select.

Step-by-step preprocessing steps for underground networks

If you would like to carry out individual preprocessing steps afterwards, use the Buried, Transitions and

crossings buttons.

The following table describes the individual steps for underground preprocessing.

1. Buried

Preprocessing steps 2–4 are all performed together.

2. Street Trenches

Automatic creation of possible trenches to the left and right of the street center line. The separation is defined by the “Width” attribute of the Street center lines feature class.

Width = 0 → street center line is not mirrored.

3. Lead-In

Lead-In trenches are created as perpendiculars from demand points to the possible trench.

Note

Likewise, the possible paths to the (default) network nodes at the main level are created under this entry. 

4. Structure Lead-In

Creates the possible trenches to specified structures and layer points.

Note

Possible paths to the (default) network nodes at the main level are generated via the pre-processing step Connection route.

5. Split trenches on boundaries

Splits the possible trenches at borders that cannot be crossed.

Note

Possible trenches are generated via the pre-processing step Street Trenches.

5. Transitions

Transitions are created to connect existing duct infrastructure with the possible trench network.

6. Crossings

Street crossings are created at the the drop trench to main trenches.

 

Note

Even demand points that are set to “not included” are given a Lead-In trench.
