Duct

Tabs

Users can find all the information about the duct in the “General” home tab. The duct form contains all the information on the duct, such as the duct type, the duct template used, the duct occupancy and the assignment to segements. Various workflows for the duct can be started from the form. The form opens in Industry Model Explorer > Duct > Duct.

Name A name can be assigned for the duct. Clicking on mceclip2.pngopens the line form for the duct in the current record. The mceclip3.pngbutton opens the line forms for all filtered ducts. (1)
Duct type The duct type assigned to the duct is displayed. Clicking on the mceclip4.pngbutton opens a selection of the already-defined duct types. Open the detailed form for duct types by double-clicking in the list box. (2)
Status The status assigned to the duct in the line form is displayed. (3)
duct category The duct category assigned to the duct is displayed. Clicking on the mceclip4.pngbutton opens a selection of the already-defined duct categories. Open the detailed form for duct categories by double-clicking in the list box. (4)
Duct template If other ducts or cables are to be assigned to the duct in the further course of data entry, a duct template must be assigned to the duct. You can find out how to define your own duct templates under Create duct template. If you need to subsequently change a duct template, please follow the sequence described there. (5)
Color The color of the duct can be selected via the mceclip4.pngbutton. If the duct is of a single color, the same values are entered for Color 1 and Color 2. (6)
Duct trunk If the duct is assigned to a duct trunk, the name of the duct trunk is displayed here. Clicking on the mceclip4.pngbutton opens a selection of already-defined duct trunks from which users can make a choice. Double-clicking in the list box opens the form for the duct trunk. (7)
Assignment In the duct assignment overview, users will find information on the duct occupancy as well as duct-specific workflows. In the middle pane, the occupancy of the duct with microducts and cables is displayed in the form of a tree view. In this case, the various elements can be quickly identified from the preceding symbol. A coloration of the duct symbol in yellow indicates that the corresponding duct is occupied by microducts or cables. The ducts and cables are displayed with their names. If no name has been assigned by the user, the type and the FID of the object appear as an alternative. You can find more information on occupancy here.
In the trench assignment, the trenches to which the duct is assigned are listed.
Various elements linked to duct can be displayed by clicking the button. (8)
Duct data Information that has been entered in the line form for the duct is displayed here. (9)
Info Information about the duct can be entered. (10)
Details From the line form, both the user length and the CAD length are displayed. The user length can be changed here. (11)
Assignments Which trenches the ducts is assigned to and which cable sections and services are assigned to the duct is listed under Assignments. The total lengths of the trenches and cable sections are displayed. The corresponding forms can be opened. (12)
Documents This displays whether documents have been attached to the form. (13)

Context menus

The duct occupancy can be seen in the duct-assignment overview and duct-specific workflows can be executed.

Context menu for the duct

Highlight The duct routing is highlighted in the graphic.
Highlight (and zoom) The duct routing is highlighted in the graphic and the area of the duct zoomed in on.
Show child cables in the form If cables are assigned to several microducts of a composite duct, the records of the cables can be opened in the line form with one click.
Show subordinate ducts in form If several ducts are assigned to the duct, the form for the duct opens with all the ducts in the filter.
Remove all child assignments The assignment of all ducts or cables subordinate to the duct is reversed. If these elements do not have their own geometry, the corresponding records are deleted.
Assign existing ducts Existing ducts with geometry can be assigned to the trench. The user is prompted to select the ducts to be assigned in the graphic.
Create and assign ducts (without geometry) If new ducts without geometry are to be created and assigned to the trench, the user starts this workflow. For more information, see Creating and assigning ducts.
Assign existing cables Existing cables with geometry can be assigned to the trench. The user is prompted to select the cables to be assigned in the graphic.
Create and assign cables (without geometry) If new cables without geometry are to be created and assigned to the trench, the user starts this workflow. For more information, see Creating and assigning cables.
Recolor child ducts The colors of ducts subordinate to the duct can be changed.
Assign child ducts/cables to one more segment/duct This command can be used to assign all subordinate ducts and cables in the block to a further duct/trench. In this case, this further duct/trench can be selected as a line from the graphic or as a duct from the trench cross section.
Remove duct geometry The geometry of the duct can be removed.
Remove geometry of all child ducts The geometry of all child ducts can be removed.
Remove geometry of all child cables The geometry of all child cables can be removed.
Duct path overview The duct path overview can be opened.
Duct end plan The duct end plan plan will be opened in a separate drawing.

Highlight (and zoom) The cable routing is highlighted in the graphic and the area of the cable zoomed in on.
Remove assignment The assignment of the cable to the trench/duct is reversed.
Assign to another snappoint The cable can be assigned to another snappoint in the trench cross section. It is a prerequisite that at least one free snappoint still be present in the trench cross section.
Edit segment and duct assignments The cable can be assigned to several segment via a tracing, a map selection or via an existing duct/cable.
Assign cable to further segments The selected cable can be assigned to a further segment.

View of the duct for display

If the ducts are to be visualized with their own geometry in the project, the feature class or its view—in this case TC_M_SP_DUCT—must be added to the map via “Data connection”. How to do this and how to show the ducts in the sleeve color can be found in the Display model section.
