Tabs
The “General” home tab contains general information for the fiber, such as name/number, and fiber type, length and color.
Attribute | Description |
Line | The name of the cable section to which the fiber belongs is displayed. (1) |
Cable type | The cable type of the cable section to which the fiber belongs is displayed. Clicking on the ![]() ![]() |
No./name | The first field indicates the number of the fiber. The second field shows the name of the fiber defined according to the designation scheme. (3) |
Service | The service connected to fiber is displayed or can be selected from a drop-down list using ![]() |
Type | The fiber type to which the fiber has been assigned is displayed or can be selected from a drop-down list using ![]() |
Start point End point |
The point (splice) in which the fiber starts (start point) or ends (end point) is displayed and , described in terms of the feature class and name of the point in which the splice is located. In addition, the splice location where the splice is positioned in the respective tray is specified. (6) |
Fiber data | The data managed in the line form for the fiber are displayed here. Information for the fiber can be stored. (7) |
Details | The number of the fiber within the bundle is displayed. The number of the bundle is displayed. (8) |
Spec. attenuation | A specific attenuation for the fiber is displayed or can be stored. (9) |
Length | The length of the fiber is shown. If no user length has been entered in the line form, the length determined by CAD is displayed. If a user length was known and this was entered in the line form, then this length is displayed as fiber length. The ![]() ![]() The fiber length and calculated attenuation are listed. The magnitude of the attenuation can vary depending on the wavelength. (10) |
Color | The color is specified according to the color scheme, showing first the color of the fiber and then the color of the bundled wire. (11) |
Documents | This displays whether documents have been attached to the form. (12) |
Menu items
A Connection Overview can be displayed via “Network exploration”.
Various workflows can be started via the “Edit” menu.
1. The numbers of the fibers in the cable section can be changed.
2. The caption of the fibers in the cable section can be changed.
3. The fiber length and calculated attenuation are listed. The magnitude of the attenuation can vary depending on the wavelength.
4. A service can be transferred to the network path starting from the fiber.
5. A service can be transferred to the corresponding network paths starting from the fibers in the filter.
6. A service can be removed from the network path starting from the fiber.
7. A service can be removed from the corresponding network paths starting from the fibers in the filter.
The FO Connection Plan can be opened, the Total length of the filtered fibers can be calculated, and the Endings overview and the forms for the generated labels can be opened via the “Overviews/Reports” menu.
The result shows both the total CAD length and the total user length.
Fiber data
The detailed form for fiber data opens under Details in the detailed form for fibers:
or in the fiber type under wavelength-based data:
Information for a fiber type, such as wavelength, attenuation, refractivity and bandwidth distance product, are managed in the “General” home tab.
1. The FID of the fiber for which the fiber data is to be defined is displayed.
2. The fiber type for which the fiber data is to be entered is displayed or can be selected from a drop-down list via . Double-clicking on the list box opens the detailed form for managing the fiber types.
3. The wavelength is displayed or can be selected from a drop-down list using . Double-clicking on the list box opens the detailed form for managing the wavelength.
4. Input of the attenuation value.
5. Input of the refractivity.
6. Input of the bandwidth distance product.
