Cable Type

In NET Engineering, users have the option of defining cable types themselves. The form is opened by double-clicking in the Cable type field in the FO Cable Section form or in Industry-Model Explorer > FO Network > FO Cable Section > FO Cable Type.

Attribute Description
Name Enter the name of the cable type here. (1)
Number of fibers The total number of fibers in the cable and the number of fibers per bundled wire can be entered. The number of bundles is calculated from this and displayed. (2)
FO fiber type The FO fiber type assigned to the cable type is displayed or can be selected from a drop-down list using mceclip2.png. Double-clicking on the list box opens the detailed form for managing the fiber types. (3)
Info Information about the cable type can be entered. (4)
Fiber name
Fiber color
The designation scheme for the fiber names can be selected from a drop-down list. Double-clicking on the list box opens the detailed form for managing the designation schemes.
The color scheme for fibers can be selected from a drop-down list. Double-clicking on the list box opens the detailed form for managing the color schemes.
The editor for designation schemes can be opened with the mceclip3.png button. (5)
Active Only active types can be selected from the drop-down list in the detailed form for FO cables. (6)
Manufacturer’s details
Manufacturer Selection of the manufacturer from a drop-down list. (7)
Designation A designation can be specified. (8)
Cable diameter The diameter of the cable [mm] can be entered. (9)
Order number Specification of the order number. (10)
Material cost Specification of the cost and currency for the material. (11)
Service cost Specification of the cost for the service. (12)
Description The description of the type can be entered here. (13)
Documents Whether documents have been attached to the form is displayed. (14)
Assigned cables The number of FO cables to which this type is assigned is displayed. Clicking on mceclip2.png lists all FO cables that use the current type. The mceclip3.png button displays all FO cables to which a type has been assigned in the filter. (15)
Adjusting the cable sections If changes have been made to the cable type, all cable sections to which this cable type is assigned can be adjusted. (16)


Note
If fields 2 and 5 have been populated, the fibers will be automatically generated in accordance with the predefined schemes when the cable type is selected in the cable section detailed form.

Menu items

You can adapt cable sections to the respective cable type via the "Edit" menu.

If changes have been made to the cable type, all cable sections to which this cable type is assigned can be adjusted.
