Ducts are linear objects used for laying microducts and cables. All properties of ducts can be described in various ways using attributes in the duct form. Microducts and cables (with or without their own geometry) can be assigned to ducts. This can be done using workflows. This is started in the workflow explorer or in the context menu of the duct form under Assignment.
Creating ducts
In order to create ducts, it is possible to proceed as described under Inserting new objects.
Ducts can be imported from plans (already as ducts with geometries or assigned to segments), or you can digitize them yourself or include them from imported line geometries (e.g., from the survey).

Modification
Various attributes can be assigned to ducts for a more detailed description. These attributes can be used for stylization in the display model and to modify the presentation in the graphic.
The assignment of the duct type and its configuration plays a decisive role in this, because it is possible to determine whether it is a single duct or a multi-duct bundle.
The geometry of the ducts or of the segments (to which the ducts are assigned) can be subsequently modified by checking them out, changing the positions of vertices or adding further vertices. Pay attention to the set and activated object snap. The objects should then be checked in again.
Deleting
Ducts can be deleted in the tabs or via the form. The assignments (microduct, cable) will be lost in the process. If microducts/cables are only assigned to that one duct, they will also be deleted (after an appropriate warning).

Joining ducts / creating duct joints / adding duct insertions
Ducts can be changed with various workflows:
Ducts can be joined together. The attributes/properties of the first selected duct are retained and the geometries of both ducts are assigned to the new duct. Only one fitting may be located at the point where the ducts are to be joined. This fitting is deleted on joining. No duct insertion may be located at this point, but must be deleted before joining.
Ducts can be connected together via a fitting. This enables tracing for correct overviews and the allocation of additional ducts or cables on the entire connected duct routing. Such a duct connection can be created with the “Add duct connection” workflow or with the “Duct-connection editor”.
A duct insertion can be assigned to ducts. This represents the beginning or the end of a duct routing. The duct insertion can be assigned to various other objects (manhole, cabinet, pole, building, FO terminator).
Multiline representation
Ducts that have been created without their own geometries in segments can be subsequently assigned a geometry using the “Create multiple lines” workflow. The geometry produced in this way can then be adjusted as desired.
